Peter is also the chairman of The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) in Oman.
Peter presented a detailed and informative presentation entitled “Opportunities for Ayrshire companies to do business in Oman and the Middle East.” Peter explained political considerations when developing business in Oman such as the large number of ministries and how vital operating licenses from these ministries are when operating in Oman. Peter provided comprehensive information on the importance of safety awareness throughout the sultanate in addition to giving some background of why vocational training such as the qualifications provided by JB Management are needed in Oman.
Hadi Fawzy from Scottish Development International (SDI) also provided an informative presentation detailing the help and support available to organisations to develop their businesses in to the Middle East. Hadi explained SDI is taking Scottish companies on various trade missions to the Middle East and Libya in 2012/13.
Chic Brodie provided a valuable summing up to the event praising JB Management for its efforts in international markets. He also explained he and the Scottish government were committed to assisting Scottish companies in exporting products and services abroad.
The meeting provided another valuable opportunity to network with other top Ayrshire business people.
Peter McNair also took the opportunity to present Bill Ure with a khanjar to document the alliance between New Image & JB Management and celebrate the development of vocational learning in Oman. The khanjar is the traditional dagger of Oman. The khanjar (pictured below) is curved and sharpened on both edges. It is carried in a sheath decorated in silver. A khanjar appears on the flag of Oman, as part of the national emblem of Oman.
Representatives from JB Management and Peter McNair also visited Parliament and discussed their plans with Fergus Ewing the Minister for Energy, Enterprise & Tourism on Thursday 26 July 2012. The meeting was an ideal opportunity to present an up to date overview of the internationalisation of JB Management.
JB Management would like to take this opportunity to thank the Minister for his time and attention to the project.
Elite Ayrshire Business Circle executive chairman and Frazer Coogans Commercial Solicitors senior director Norman Geddes commented: “In order for the Ayrshire economy to thrive and prosper during the current challenging economic climate, it is vital that as many companies and businesses as possible export their products and services to countries that are continuing to achieve economic growth.
“We would like to congratulate JB Management upon their success in Oman, and hope that many of our members will be inspired by what they heard today to follow their commendable example.”
