Ladies Night fun at Ayr Racecourse

By: Iain Ferguson

THE party night of the year at Ayr Racecourse – QTS Ladies Night was a huge success last Saturday with a crowd of 6200 enjoying racing and fabulous entertainment.

The weather stayed kind with threatened rain holding off until the last race and by that time the huge crowds were heading indoors to enjoy the music of Take That tribute act The Greatest and Edinburgh Sounds.

There was lots of glamour and 11 lucky ladies won a coin that guarantees them a place in the final of William Hill Ladies Day at the course on Friday 20 September when the prizes include - a Vauxhall Adam Jam 1.4 courtesy of  Kerr & Smith, a Fred Olsen 10 night Fjords, Mountains and Glaciers Cruise sponsored by Stewart Travel and Laser treatments by The Coast Clinic, Ayr.

There was a great party atmosphere as a large percentage of the crowd filled the Champagne Lawns before being entertained by the popular bands.

Ayr Racecourse Sales and Marketing Manager Lindsey Smith commented: “We were very happy with the night. There was a real sense of occasion and everyone had made a real effort to glam up with the ladies desperate to win a coin and the guys looking to be Best Dressed Man.

“The crowd were enthusiastic and we were very fortunate with the weather. Both bands were well received and all in all it was a successful night.”
