Leading Ayrshire chef Mafiz Ali to cook at Largs Food Festival

Mafiz Ali, proprietor and head chef at Ayr Spice Restaurant in Minishant, will be helping to lead the celebrations at the Taste Ayrshire Largs Food Festival this coming Sunday 18 August at Largs Green.

And Mafiz (pictured above, centre) will be cooking some of his magnificent curries and serving them as takeaways from his stall at the Festival.

On the menu will be delicious onion bhajis and vegetable pakoras as starters, and a mouth-watering selection of main courses including chicken or lamb bhuna, vegetable curry and chicken korma, all at very attractive prices!

And at 4pm, Mafiz Ali will be joined by another award-winning chef from Bangladesh, and together they will be giving a demonstration of how you can cook the popular Indian dish Chicken Jalfrezi at home in your own kitchen.
From 10am to 5pm this coming Sunday 18 August Taste Ayrshire will be celebrating all that’s great about Ayrshire’s Food and Drink - and there’s a lot to celebrate!

With cookery demonstrations from some of our finest chefs, produce from our artisan producers, live music, children’s entertainment, and even a display from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, this is a fun packed day for all the family.

So be sure to come along, join the fun and tantalise your taste buds!  Our friends at West FM will also be there to join in the fun, so look out for them on the day.

Mafiz Ali commented: “In all my years in the restaurant business, I have always enjoyed supporting the local community and participating in local events like the Largs Food Festival. I hope to see many of my regular customers on Sunday, and hope to attract others to come along to Ayr Spice Restaurant in Minishant and try out our menu for the first time.”

10AM – 5PM
